John Lewis
Christmas advertisement
beamed out
painting dusty shadows
along tiles to/o
dirty, wrecked nikes
what a jolly
evening
it’s mid-july
and June was
ironically
a Christmas
child
she found
them
while losing
herself
they rule
London
without the cloaks
or titles
sedated vibrations
crawl to gather
inside walls
every flickering
screen
and she goes
to the room closest
gathers a line of
pulverized intensity
just so she can blow
a sugarcoated kiss
then fall into –
her eyes catch on skin
yet to be discovered
she follows some Lines
words
underneath the collar bones:
“Life is a joke
and love is the punchline”
