sunshine

she
exists as a shadow
whenever night falls
her kingdom surrounds us
on slender legs
does she prance
along
hallways filled
with blacked out portrays
she says
she prefers them this way,
darkness
-she says-
has never left her alone

we wander
up some stairs
I fall and bruise
her laughter echoes
through
I find her lips
on my knee
then on my neck
it’s funny
how only now
I spot the shine
in her eyes
at day
it seems
the sun blinds mine

finally
we stand
on top
on the roof
holding hands
while a blaze
melts away
the cloak of black
paler
orange
drizzles in at the edge
it will
surely drown us
it will
definitively
wash you away
